Term 5

Course Regulations:

The complete course lasts two semesters (5^th: Concrete Structures I, 6^th: Concrete Structures II).

Semester 5:

Course consists on the lecture and the tutorial, two hours weekly each one for 15 weeks.

The lecture is intended to let the students understand the basis of reinforced concrete theory.

This part is led in the classroom or online via MS Teams, depending on the actual situation. Edition 2020/2021 is expected to start online.

The lecture ends with the colloquium, organized on the last week of the semester, in the classroom or online, depending to situation. The online colloquium is in writing, followed by oral part via MS Teams.  The colloquium grade is the grade for the lecture.

Student’s presence on the lecture isn’t obligatory, but is recommended. Student’s attending this part regularly – more than 80% lessons - will get extra half a point to the colloquium result (possibility of grade raising by ½).

The tutorial is intended to let the students train the elements of structure design in practice.

This part is led in the classroom or online via MS Teams, depending on the actual situation. Edition 2020/2021 is expected to start online.

The tutorial includes: the colloquium verifying the ability of solving the basic problems, the project allowing to train the rules for the structures design. Each part is graded separately and the final grade is the resultant of these two.

Student’s presence on the tutorial is obligatory, unexplained missing of more than three lessons means the negative grade for the whole course.

Semester 5 final grade is the mean of the lecture and the tutorial grades. In case of unclear situation the lectures grade will be the leading one (i.e. lectures: 3, tutorial: 3,5 – final: 3 or lectures: 3,5 tutorial: 3 – final: 3,5).
