Course Building Materials 1 is given at Departmentof Building Materials Engineering in accordance with the general standards forteaching in Civil Engineering. It includes lectures, during which there arepresented properties and technology for production and application of buildingmaterials. There is also presented quality control of building materials and products.During laboratory meetings students acquire practical skills of testing andevaluation of selected properties of building materials and commercial products.

This course builds on the Surveying I course, developing students ability to master surveying terminology and techniques in compliance with the industry standards. Among others, students learn how to measure, calculate and record elevations using standard field equipment, skills are taught through executing both individual and team-worked projects.
